Fintech Outbound Sales Stats: 2026-07-28

The Numbers

On July 28, our fintech and insurtech outbound team executed 10,058 dials across 17 active representatives. That volume generated 787 connections, representing a 7.8% connect rate typical for cold calling operations targeting business decision-makers.

Of those connections, 260 conversations lasted 60 seconds or longer, indicating real engagement with qualified prospects. This subset matters most: those longer conversations converted to 28 meetings booked, establishing an ICP-to-booking conversion rate of 10.8%.

Beyond immediate bookings, we captured 182 prospects marked as interested or requiring follow-up, expanding our pipeline for subsequent outreach.

Across these interactions, our team invested 829 total minutes of talk time, averaging roughly 49 minutes per representative.

What This Means

A 7.8% connect rate sits at the higher end of cold calling benchmarks. That's not accident. It reflects list quality, rep training, and disciplined calling windows that hit our buyer personas when they're available.

The real story lives in what we do with connections:

  • Quality filtering works. Our ICP-qualified conversations (260) represent just 33% of total connections. The other 67% include gatekeepers, wrong departments, and prospects outside our target profile. Ruthlessly qualifying on the phone saves everyone time.

  • Conversion scales predictably. A 10.8% close rate from 60-second conversations is sustainable. That's roughly one meeting per ten good-fit calls, which our reps can predict and pace their daily targets accordingly.

  • Disposition data reveals bottlenecks. Our top outcomes tell the story:

  • Follow Up Required: 179 (22%)

  • Intro Rejected: 87 (11%)

  • No Follow Up Needed: 76 (10%)

  • Bad Phone Number: 61 (8%)

  • Not Qualified - No Need: 45 (6%)

The high "Follow Up Required" count shows we're reaching the right people but often catching them at inconvenient moments. That's workable. "Intro Rejected" and "Not Qualified" together account for 17% of dispositions, suggesting our targeting could tighten further, but we're not throwing darts.

These numbers represent a single day in a repeatable process. 28 meetings from 10K dials translates to roughly 2,800 meetings annually if we maintain this velocity, assuming standard no-show rates and rescheduling patterns. That pipeline feeds our deal flow.

The team is operating efficiently. Our takeaway: when list quality and rep discipline align, cold calling still closes deals.
