The Numbers
We dialed 12,223 prospects on July 2nd across our 15-rep fintech and insurtech operation. Of those, we connected with 804 people for a 6.6% connect rate. That translates to 1,089 minutes of total talk time, averaging just under 81 seconds per connection.
Quality Over Volume
The real story sits in our conversion funnel. Of our 804 connections, 345 were qualified ICP conversations lasting 60 seconds or longer. This represents a 42.9% ICP conversion rate from total connections, which tells us our dialing list is clean and our opening pitch is landing.
From those 345 ICP conversations, we booked 16 meetings. That's a 4.6% ICP-to-booking conversion rate. In fintech and insurtech, where decision-making is complex and objection handling is crucial, this efficiency validates our process.
An additional 206 prospects asked for follow-up or showed interest—our pipeline builder for tomorrow's calls.
Where Calls Ended
The disposition breakdown gives us operational clarity:
Follow Up Required: 204 calls
Bad Phone Number: 84 calls
Intro Rejected: 73 calls
No Follow Up Needed: 73 calls
Wrong Data: 41 calls
The volume in "Follow Up Required" (204) is healthy. That's almost 2.5 times our booked meetings—a legitimate second-touch opportunity. "Bad Phone Number" and "Wrong Data" (125 combined) represent list quality issues we can solve upstream. "Intro Rejected" at 73 is low noise; that's normal market resistance.
What This Means Practically
We're operating in the sweet spot: dialing enough volume to build momentum (12K+ dials), hitting quality conversations at scale (345 ICP interactions), and converting at a repeatable rate. One rep booked just over one meeting per person on average across the team—a sustainable pace that doesn't burn people out.
The 60-second ICP threshold acts as our quality gate. When prospects stay on the line that long, they're listening. Our 4.6% conversion from there suggests the objection handling is solid and our value prop is resonating with the right personas.
The 206 interested prospects who need follow-up mean we're building a second-pass list that often outperforms cold calling itself. These are warm callbacks, not fresh dials.
The Takeaway
Our funnel is working: we're dialing efficiently, qualifying ruthlessly, and converting at a rate that scales.
