The Numbers
On June 30th, we executed 12,126 dials across our fintech and insurtech outbound operation. Our 15 active representatives connected with 891 prospects, delivering a 7.3% connect rate that sits within our target range for these verticals. Total talk time across the team hit 1,017 minutes, averaging 68 minutes per rep for the day.
The quality metric we track most closely is meaningful conversation volume. We achieved 321 ICP conversations lasting 60 seconds or more, meaning roughly 36% of our connections qualified as substantive interactions with targets in our ideal customer profile.
Conversion Funnel
What matters most to our operation is what these calls convert to. We booked 17 meetings, which translates to a 5.3% ICP-to-booking conversion rate. That's solid in a market where most fintech and insurtech operations see 3-4% at this stage.
Beyond immediate meetings, we identified 186 prospects expressing genuine interest or requiring follow-up, expanding our pipeline significantly. This represents an additional layer of future opportunity that our follow-up sequences will work through over the next two weeks.
Disposition Breakdown
Every call lands in a disposition category that tells us how to prioritize next steps:
Follow Up Required: 183 calls (most common, showing genuine interest but timing misalignment)
Intro Rejected: 114 calls (clear pass from the prospect, documented for compliance)
No Follow Up Needed: 102 calls (wrong fit, but clear feedback)
Bad Phone Number: 88 calls (data quality issue we're flagging with our list provider)
Not Qualified - No Need: 57 calls (non-ICP, wrong persona)
The Follow Up Required bucket is where our energy concentrates next. Those 183 conversations represent the most receptive segment and will receive outreach within 48 hours.
Velocity and Effort
Our average rep connected with roughly 59 prospects per person and conducted 21 quality conversations. At 68 minutes talk time per rep, we're maintaining sustainable pacing without the burnout that kills retention in this function. Most importantly, our connection-to-meeting ratio stayed above 2%, meaning the effort required to book a call feels proportional to the activity.
One day's worth of data points to a repeatable system. When your connect rate holds steady, your ICP conversation rate stays above 35%, and your follow-up pool keeps growing, you've built a reliable revenue engine. The focus shifts from dialing harder to dialing smarter and converting better on the back end.
The real win today wasn't the 17 meetings booked. It was the 186 qualified prospects ready for next-touch sequences and the 321 conversations that proved our targeting is sharp enough to drive genuine interest.
